SUBJECT: MATERIAL CONTROL AND ACCOUNTABILITY INSPECTION AT GENERAL ELECTRIC
MORRIS OPERATION FACILITY
This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. J. R. Kniceley of this office
on June 2-3, 1993. The inspection included a review of activities at Morris
Operations authorized by NRC Special Nuclear Material License No. SNM-2500.

At the conclusion of the inspection, the findings were discussed with those
members of your staff identified in the enclosed report.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report. Within
,
these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures
and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observation of
activities in progress.
,
No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this
inspection.
,
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC
Public Document Room.
Exhibits A and B, which are attached to the enclosed

report, concern a subject matter which is exempt from disclosure according to
Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practices," Part 2, Title 10, Code of
Federal Regulation. Consequently, the attachment-to the enclosed inspection
report will not be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
