PERRY NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, UNIT I - REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING EMERGENCY ACTION LEVEL CHANGES (TAC NO. M85476)
The staff has completed its preliminary review of your emergency action level (EAL) changes in Cleveland Electric's emergency plan for the Perry Nuclear Power Plant and has generated a number of comments and questions concerning those changes.
Because the staff previously endorsed the NUMARC guidance on EALs the comments focus on those EAls that deviated from the guidance and those that required the development of site-specific thresholds. The attached enclosure provides details regarding this information. Note that the attachment includes a summary of the staff's comments which require action.
Please provide your response as soon as practicable, and within no more than 30 days from the receipt of this letter.
If you need additional clarification, please contact B. Wetzel at (301) 504-1355.
The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements contained in this letter affect fewer than ten respondents. Therefore, OMB clearance is not required under Pub. L.96-511.
