This refers to.the inspection conducted by Messrs. T. Taylor,.J. Shine, and
P. Prescott of this office from January.12 through February'22, 1993. This
,
inspection included a review of authorized activities for your Quad Cities :
Nuclear Power Station facility. At the conclusion of the' inspection, the
findings were discussed with those members of your staff identified in the -
enclosed report.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in'the' report. .Within.
these, areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures-
i
and representative records,. interviews with personnel, and observation o,f:
,
activities in progress.

During this inspection, certain of your activities appeared to be in. violation-
of NRC requirements, ~as specified in the enclosed Notice of Violation.
,
Also during this inspection, certain other of.your activitiies appeared to be-
!
in violation of NRC requirements. However, as described in the enclosed .
.
inspection report, you identified the violations. 'Therefore, they'are not.
~!
being cited because the criteria specified in section VII.B.2 of 10 CFR Part'
'
2, Appendix C (Enforcement Policy).were met.

You are. required to respond to this letter and should follow the instructions

specified in the enclosed Notice'when preparing your response. .In your;

response, you should' document the specific actions.taken and any-. additional
