PEACH BOTTOM ATOMIC POWER STATION, UNIT N05. 2 AND 3

NRC Generic letter (GL) 89 06, dated April 12, 1989, requested you to provide rertification regarding the implementation of a Safety Parameter Display System (SPDS) at your facility. The GL and its attachment NUREG 1342, provided clari'ication of the requirements for an acceptable SPDS,as originally

defined in NURG-0737, Supplement 1, issued January 1983. The GL further l
requested you to complete a checklist and take photographs of your SPDS and l
to retain these records for three years from the date of certification.
On July 11,1989, Philadelphia Electric Company certified that the SPM at Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station Units 2 and 3 will fully meet the requirements 7
of fluREG-0737, Supplement 1 by July 1992 for Unit 2 and June ef 1991 f.or.
Unit 3 taking into account the information provided in.NUREC-1342.
Peted upon this certification, the NRC staff concludes that your facility will satisfactorily meet all requirements for an SPOS specified in Nt! REG-0737i t
Supplement 1, provided that commitments for implementition are completed on sc1edule. Therefore, staff review of this issue is complete. The NRC should be notified if the proposed date of SPDS full implementation stated above is incorrect or revised. You should also notify the staff in writing upon full implementation of the SPDS at your facility. please contact the j,

This request is covered by Office of Management and Budget Clearance Number 3150-0011 which expires January 31, 1991.
