Inspection No. 50-352/90-07 and 50-353/90-06
This letter transmits the routine resident safety inspection by Messrs. T. Kenny,
L. Scholl, and Ms. M. Evans from' January 30 - March 5,1990 at the Limerick
- Generating Station, Limerick, Pennsylvania. The inspection consisted of document
. reviews, interviews, and observations of activities.
The results have been
discussed with Mr. Graham Leitch and Mr. Martin McCormick, Jr. of your staff.
Based on our inspection, it was identified that a failure to follow a
preventive maintenance procedure for. installing solenoid valves in a safety
system resulted in the installation of the wrong type solenoid valves. This
apparent violation has been categorized by severity level according to 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (Enforcement Policy). You are renuired to respond to this
violation and in preparing your response you should follow the instructions in
Appendix A.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosures
will be placed in the Public Document Room. The response directed by this
letter and the accompanying notice are not subject to the clearance procedures
