Gentlemen:
This refers to the special safeguards inspection conducted by
Mr. J. L. Belanger of this office on October 6, 1981, of activities at the
Palisades Nuclear Plant authorized by NRC Operating License No. DPR-20 and
to the discussion of our findings with Mr. W. Hodge of your staff at the
conclusion of the inspection. This also refers to your Property Protection
Incident Report dated October 16, 1981.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies the area examined
during the inspection. Within this area, the inspection consisted of
observations and interviews with personnel.
No items of noncompliance with NRC requirements were identified during
the course of this inspection.
The area examined during the inspection concerns a subject matter which
is exempt from disclosure according to Section 73.21 of the NRC's " Rules
of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations.
Consequently,
our report of this inspection will not be placed in the Public Document Room.
