Dear Mr. Grimes:
In reference to a letter dated August 4,1981, frm Mr. T. C. Nichols, Jr. of Scuth Carolina Electric arxl Gas Cmpany concerning prmpt notification of the p1blic, it was stated that a network of sirens would be installed, tested and operable by Dec m ber, 1981. Due to probles on delivery of parts and scheduling of sound measurement tests on the system the notification systs will not be tested and operable by December, 1981.
The notification systs will be tested and operable prior to the issuance of an operating license. Both the physical and administrative functions of the notification system will be tested during the operational test of the system.
