E. Vandel of this office, A. A. Varela of the Region I office and C. R. Oberg of the Region IV Office of Inspection and Enforce- ment on August 31 and September 1-2, 1977, of activities at the Callaway Unit 1 construction site authorized by NRC Construction Permit No. CPPR-139 and to the discussion of 1 our findings with Messrs. Doyne, Weber, others of your staff and others of the Callaway staff at the conclusi n of the inspection. The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas exanined during the inspection. *dithin these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective exa=ination of procedures and representative records, observations, and interviews with personnel, During this inspection, certain of your activities appeared i ! to be in noncempliance with NRC requirements, as described in the enclosed Appendix A. 1 I This notice is sent to you pursuant to the provisions of Section 2.201 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title , l 10, Code of Federal Regulations. Section 2.201 requires you ! to submit to this office within thirty days of your receipt l of this notice a written statement or explanation in reply, I including for each item of noncompliance: (1) corrective I action taken and the results achieved; (2) corrective action to be taken to avoid further nonco=pliance; and (3) the date l when full compliance will be achieved.
