Virgil C. Sumer Nuclear Station Docket No. 50/395 Boron Dilution Rate SER Confirmatory Issue 1.7.19

Dear Mr. Denton:

South Carolina Electric and Gas @mpany (SCE&G) hereby transmits information required to resolve the Reactor Systems Branch concern expressed in SER Supplement 1, Confirmatory Issue 1.7.19, Item 4, i.e., provide assurance that the manmim boron dilution rate will not exceed 150 gallons per minute.

To ensure that the reactor mkeup water pump flow rate does not exceed 150 gallons per minute a flow limiting orifice is being installed between the rump and the blender in the reactor makeup water systen.

Reference to this modification will be incorporated into the FSAR in a future amendment.

With this subnittal, SCE&G completes all action relating to Confirmatory Issue 1.7.19.
