This refers to your September 8,1981 request for an approved route for shipping spent fuel from the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant to Battelle Memorial Institute.
The request is subject to the Commission's license fee schedule in 10 CFR 170.
For reactor licensees, fees for the review of route approval requests are assessed under Category F of Section 170.21, as special projects.
In accordance with Footnote 4 of Section 170.21, the charge for the review will be determined by the Commission based on the professional manpower required to conduct the review plus any support costs.
In determining the fee to be cherged, only actual staff time expended in the review of the route request is used to calculate the fee; the route (field) survey conducted by the NRC staff is excluded from fee computation.
