Dear Mr. Page:
Commonwealth Edison Company hereby requests an exemption from the requirements of 10 CFR 70.24 for criticality monitors during the operation of LaSalle Courity Station Units 1 and 2.
Commonwealth Edison Company currently holds NkC Materials Licenses Nos. SNM-1802 and SNM-1833.
In the letter dated Septenber 25, 1978, from L.
C. Rouse to M.
S.
Turbak, an exemption from the provisions of 10 CFR 70.24 was granted for SNM-1802 and SNM-1833 because ".... The NRC Staff has determined that you have shown good cause for granting the exemption ano that granting such an exemptiaa will not endanger public life or property or the common defense and security and is otherwise in the public interest."
The exemption to 10 CFR 70.24 requirements was granteo for SNM-1802 and SNM-1833 based on information provided in:
Application for Special Nuclear Material License for LaSalle County Station, dated May 17, 1977.
