01 POTENTIAL SiGNIFICANT CONSTRUCTION DEFICIENCY SUPPRESSION CHAMBER SEISMIC ANALYSIS NO. 1 AND 2 UNITS (50-354/355)

HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION On September 4, 1981, a verbal report was made to Region 1, Office of Inspection and Enforcement representative, Mr.

E.

Greenman, advising of a potential significant con-struction deficiency.

The reported potential deficiency concerns seismic design analysis review for the suppression chamber.

Specifically, the action of the water mass in the chamber if a seismic event occurs in a post accident condition with.the chamber completely filled with water.

The following supplemental information is submitted in ac-cordance with the requirements of 10CFR50.55(e).

PSE&G is currently reviewing this concern to deterrine I

reportability per the requirements of 10CFR50.55(e).

This I

assessment is scheduled for completion November 6, 1981, at which time a report will be made to the NRC.
