This is in response to your letter dated June 30, 1981, which transmitt.ed a description of proposed procedures for applying a bias correction to material measured by your active rod scanner during the past year.

We have detennined that approving these procedures will not endanger the common defense and security and that it is othenitse in the public interest to do so.

In addition, no exemptions are required in order to approve them. Therefore, we hereby approve the use of these procedures for the material balance period ending August 10, 1981.

We have established that tha attachments to your letter dated June 30, 1981 contain information of a type specified in 10 CFR c.790(d).

Accordingly, pursuant to Section 2.790(d)(1), such information is deemed to be commercial or financial information within the meaning of 10 CFR 9.5(a)(4) and shall be subject to disclosure only in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 9.12.
