Evaluation of the 24 Element Graphite Reflected Core in the Westinghouse Nuclear Training Reactor (License R-119, Docket 50-87)

Please find attached the " Evaluation of the 24 Element Graphite Reflected Core" and all references mentioned therein.

The document is forwarded to you in accordance with 10CFR50.59 to supplement the " Safety Considerations for the 24 Element Graphite Reflected Core" document submitted to you on fiarch 19, 1981 (Reference B of the attached document).

Conclusions derived from the " Evaluation of the 24 Element Graphite Reflected Core" and the ccmments presented in Reference B verify (i) the probability or consequences of any analyzed accident are not increased.

(ii) There is no possibility of an unanalyzed accident cccurring, and (iii) no margin for safety in the Technical Specification basis is reduced durino operation of the 24 Element Graphite Reflected Core.

Therefore, in accordance with 10CFR50.59, the 24 Element Graphite Reflected Core can be considered the normal configuration for the Westinghouse Nuclear Training Reactor and will not necessitate an amenament to the operating license.
