We have received a copy of your May 21, 1981 application which was filed with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (0NRR) for review. The application is for license amendment to add surveillance requirements for hydraulic snubbers at Brunswick Unit Hos.1 and 2 as requested by letter dated November 20, 1980, from the USNRC. You determined that j
fees pursuant to 10 CFR 170.22 are not required since this application was requested by the USNRC and meets the other criteria of footnote 2 i
to 10 CFR 170.22.
Based on information provided by the ONRR staff as a result of a preliminary review of your application, it has been determined that this application is not exempt from fees under the provisions of footnote 2 because it is not to simplify or clarify the Technical Specifications for the convenience l
of the USNRC. We understand that the need for this amendment results from safety concerns based on recent operating experience.
The ONRR staff have determined that it involves a Class III fee of $4,000 for one unit and a Class I fee of $400 for the other unit. On this basis, it is requested that your Company remit a total of $4,400 to our office.
If the ONRR staff's final analysis of your application reveals that these fees are incorrect, you will be notified and an adjustment will be made.
