Dear Ms. Fleming:
I am responding to your August 1990, letter to Chairman Carr concerning the adequacy of offsite emergency planning for the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station (PNoS).
In this matter, the staff of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Consnission (NRC) has not changed its finding of reasonable assurance that was provided to you in previous correspondence.
As you know a public meeting is scheduled on September 6,1990 at 7:00 pm, at the Sheraton Plymouth Hotel,130 Water Street, Plymouth Massachusetts, to gather information regarding the current state of emergency preparedness in the local communities within the 10-mile Emergency Planning Zone around PNPS. The meeting will be transcribed, and the NRC staff will use the it. formation from this meeting as input to the staff's next report to the Commission on the cur *ent status of offsite emergency preparedness for Pilgrim Station, if you wish to make a presentation at the meeting, you shtuld call Marie Miller, NRC Region I Liaison Officer, at (215) 337-5000, or if you are unable to attend you may provide written input to Ms. Miller at the following address:
