Systematic Assessment of Licensee Performance (SALP)

The NRC Regica I SALP Board conducted a review on September 20, 1982 and evaluated tha performance of activities associated with the Maine Yankee Nuclear Power Station.

The results of this assessment are documented in the enclosed SALP Board Report.

A meeting has been scheduled for the week of September 27, 1982 at the site to discuss this assessmenc.

This meeting is intended to provide a forum for candid discussions relating to this perfor-mance.

At the meeting, you should be prepared to discuss our assessment and your plans to improve performance, particularly in regard to the areas of Plant Operations, Design Change / Quality Assurance and Emergency Preparedness. Any comments you may have regarding the remainder of our report may also be discussed at the meeting. Additionally, you may provide written comments within 20 days after the meeting.

Following our meeting and receipt of your response, the enclosed report, your response, and a summary of our findings and planned actions will be pla:ad in the NRC Document Room.
