Dear Messrs. Pollock and Hays:
This is in response to your letter dated November 8,1982, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, copies of 1) a Sandia National Laboratories report which details the potential results of serious accidents at nuclear power plants; 2).all information pertaining to any existing evacuation plans and other contingency safety measures to protect the people and environment within a 100 mile radius of the San Onofre plant; and 3) all information pertaining to what is done to minimize the possibility of human error in construction and maintanence operations at nuclear power plants and how such human error may have been involved in the course of events which led to the situation at Three Mile Island. This confirms the information relayed to you in a telephone conversation with Ms. Carol Ann Reed on December 2,1982.
Enclosed are the documents listed on Appendix A.
All of the information concerning evacuation plans and also the documents.
listed on Appendix B are currently available at the NRC Local Public Document Room for the San Gnofre plant which is located in the San Clemente Branch Library, 242 Averida Del Mar, San Clemente, California.
