This refers to the routine inspection conducted by Messrs. T. Foley and

P. Koltay of this office on November 1-30, 1982 at Indian Point Nuclear.

Generating Station, Unit 2 - Buchanan, New York of activities authorized

by tRC License No. DPR-26, and to the discussions of our findings held by

Mr. T. Foley with Mr. C. Jackson and members of his staff at the conclusion

of the inspection.

Areas examined during this inspection are described in the report enclosed

with this letter. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective

'

examinations of procedures and repmsentative records, interviewr. with per-

sonnel, and observations by the inspector.

Our inspector also verified the steps you have taken to correct one viola-

l

tion brought to your attention in the enclosure to our letter dated March 19,

1982. We have no further questions regarding your action at this time.

,

Based on the resuits of this inspection, it appears that certain of your activi-

ties were not conducted in full compliance with NRC mqQirements, as set forth

in the Notice of Violation, enclosed herewith as Appendix A.
