Uc are enclosing a copy of Apnendix A to Franch Technical Position APCS 3 9.5-1, " Guidelines fer Fire Protection For !!uclear PoWr Plants Docketed Prior to July 1,1976" (Enclosure 1). This tiocument presents certain accentable alternatives f.>r operating plants to the poe.itions niven in APCSR 9.5-1.
We are sendino this to you for your information because we will be using Appendix A in our evaluation of your plants.
After revicuing the licensee subnittals made to data in re';9onse to our letter, we believe your initial response nay not adonnately present the results of your fire hazards analysis.
We stress that in order to beqin a re-evaluation of the fire protection progran of your facilities, you nust perfora a fire hazards analysis with the assistance and technical direction of a qualified fire protection enginer.
In order for us to evaluate your fire hazards analysis we rervire that you subnit the results in suf ficient detail. To provitte further guidance, we are enclosing a copy of "Sunnienentary Guidance on Infornation Meeded for Fire Erntection Progra, Evaluation" (Enclosure 2). This docu,ent indicates the type of informtion that will enable us to evaluate the i
total fire hazards analysis for your facilities. This ty:;e of information may or may not he included in the detailed point-by-point comparison with Standard Review Plan 9.5.1 depending upon how you present that information.
