Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) has reviewed IE Bulletin No. 83-05, "ASME Nuclear Code Pumps and Spare Parts Manufactured by the Hayward Tyler Pump Company", for applicability to the H. B. Robinson Steam Electric Plant Unit No. 2 (HBR2).
In an effort to determine if any such pumps or spare parts are in use at HBR2, CP&L reviewed plant records and determined that there are no Hayward Tyler pumps at HBR2 in 0-list applications. A review of the drawing files revealed that no Hayward Tyler pumps were installed in the plant during construction.
In addition, Hayward Tyler is not now and never has been on the H3R2 approved suppliers list.
Based on the review discussed above, CP&L has determined that IE Bulletin No. 83-05 does not apply to HBR2.
In response to your request for time expended conducting these reviews, CP&L spent approximately fifteen hours in preparation of this response.
