Exercises S
' m y...
An exercise will be conducted annually using scenarios which i s
- d' will be varied from year.to year, such that, all major j
elements of the plan and of the preparedness organizations may be tested Within a five-year period.
The exercises will con, sist of simulated events which will test the integrated capability and a major portion of the basic elements existing within the emergency preparedness plans and organizations.
The exercise may simulate an emergency that results i_n offsite radiological releases which would require I-response by offsite authorities.
The annual exercise will include mobilization of State and local emergency response personnel.
'A sufficient number of
?
State and local personnel and resources will be mobilized to evaluate the capability of State and local agencies to respond.
Provisions shall be made to critique drills and exercises, provide qualified observers / evaluators, and to develop exercise scenarios.
Once every six years an exercise may be scheduled to start between G:OO p.m. and midnight and another between midnight and G:00 a.m.
Exercises are scheduled'in advance and are not likely to be postponed by weather conditions.
This annual exercise is nominally conducted once every 12 months; the interval From the previous drill.may be shortened, but may not be extended beyond 15 months.
