B UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION DOCKET NO. 50-295 C020NWEALTH EDIS0N COMPANY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT T0' FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission (the Commission) has issued Amendment No. 76 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-39, issued to the Comonwealth Edison Company (the licensee), which revised Technical Specifications for operation of the Zion Station, Unit 1 (the facility) located in Zion, Illinois. The amendment is effective as of the date of issuance.
The amendment will permit the 1B Charging pump to be inoperable for an additional three days (until 1440 hours0.0167 days <br />0.4 hours <br />0.00238 weeks <br />5.4792e-4 months <br /> on September 29,1982) while repairs are completed to the pump. This amendment is being issued on an expedited basis to maintain the plan't at steady-state operation and avoid a shutdown transient which would be required by our Technical Specifications but shown by our evaluation to be unnecessary.
The application for amendment complies with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Commission's rules and regulations. The Comission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Comission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which ire set forth in the license amendment. Prior public notice of this amendment was not required since the amendment does not involve a significant hazards consideration.

.- The Commission has detemined that the issuance of the amendment will not result in any significant environmental impact and that pursuant to 10 CFR 551.5(d)(4) an environmental impact statement or negative declaration and environmental impact appraisal need not be prepared in connection with issuance of the amendment.
