EVENT DESCRIPTION

- On September 25,1982, at 1330 hours0.0154 days <br />0.369 hours <br />0.0022 weeks <br />5.06065e-4 months <br /> during the performance of LIS NB-10, Reactor Low Pressure RCIC lsolation Calibration and Functional Test, pressure switches 1E31-N022C and 1E31-N022D setpoints were found out of tolerance in the non-conservative direction per Technical Specification 3 3 2.

V.

PROBABLE CONSEQUENCES OF THE OCCURRENCE:

Unit I was in Operating Mode 2 at approximately 1% Thermal Power at the time of the occurrence.

Pressure switch 1E31-N022D setpoint was found to be 2.8 psig lower than the Technical Specification ilmit while 1E31-N022C

,setpoint was.l.8 p:,lg lower than the limit. These switches would have performed their isolation function at e slightly. lower pressure than required.

Safe plant operation was maintained at all times.

VI.

CAUSE

The cause of the out of tolerance trip setpoint was attributed to setpoint drift of 1E31-N022C and D.

These switches are Static "0" Ring Model 6NAA3 Vll. CORRECTIVE ACTION

.- The pressure switch setpoints were readjusted and the switches were returned to service per the LIS-NB-10 procedure. These switches are being trended in the Trend Analysis Program.to determine if further corrective ~.
