This refers to the routine resident safety inspection by Mr. R. Architzel on
January 6 - February 2.1982 at the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant. Lusby,

Maryland. The inspection consisted of document reviews, interviews, measure-
ments, and observation of activities, and the results have been discussed with
Mr. J. T. Carroll of your staff.
Apparent Violations of NRC requirements are cited in Appendix A and categorized
by level in accordance with Federal Register Notice 45FR66754 (October 7,1980).

A reply is required and should be prepered in accordance with Appendix A.
It is
exempt from the Office of Management and Budet's clearance procedures under the
Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980. PL 96-511.
Page 5 of the enclosed report contains physical security information which will
be disclosed only in accordance with 10 CFR 9.12. The rest of this transmittal
will be made public unless you contact us about, and then apply,in writing for,
withholding within 10 and 25 days, respectively, of the date of this letter.
Such application must comply with 10 CFR 2.790(b)(1).
