By letter dated January 26, 1990, Yankee Rowe submitted the first of two required responses b the subject generic letter. Noting that you have com-mitted to each of the five recommended actions of GL 89-13, or to an equally effective alternative course of action for one or more of them, we accept your response as fulfilling this requirement of the generic letter.
We remind youlthat if'you choose a course of action different from the recom-mended actions of the generic letter, you should document and retain in appropriate plant records ~a justification that the heat removal requirements of the service water system are satisfied by use of the alternative program.
We_look forward to receiving the second of the two required responses to GL 89-13.
