ANALYSIS-RESULTS OF NRC SPIKED SAMPLE-
,
During a recent NRC Confirmatory Measurements ' Program conducted during June
1989 between NRC and your North Anna plant, there was a: disagreement of tritium
values.
During the inspection (Inspection Report No,' 50-338.- 339/89-33),-
conducted December 11-15, 1989, the inspector informed your staff that another
NRC spiked sample would be shipped for analysis to confirm the adequacy.of your
corrective: actions.
The_ spiked sample.-with instructions, vill be sent under separate cover from
the Department of Energy's Radiological and Environmental Sciences' Laboratory
within approximately two weeks.
Coonizant plant personnel have been notified -
by- telephone. - This sample should be analyzed for tritium'in accordance with
your approved procedures.
We request that- the analyses be completed as- soon as practicable, but no late'r
than ; 60 days from receipt 'of the samples.=
Results should be sent to:

evaluation of your results will be discussed with your staff-and transmitted in:-
a letter. Spiked samples will be sent to you on an annual basis as part of our
routine inspection prograir.
