'Ihe attached request involves changing the requirements in the McGuire Technical Specifications for Residual Heat Removal (ND) system flow when in Made 6 (Refueling) . 'Ihese changes are in response to Generic Letter 88-17, loss of Decay Heat Removal. '1he changes are also being prW to aid Operaticms  ;

personnel in preventing loss of the ND system. 'Ihis proposed change is l consistent with the Technical Specifications- for Residual Heat Removal Systems in i Mode 6 proposed in WCAP-12159. 'Ihis WCAP was submitted by the Westinghouse  ;

Owners Group on March 30, 1989, and subsequently approved by your staff. l

'Ihe changes contained in this letter are intended to make the McGuire Technical  !

Specifications for Residual Heat Removal resernble more closely the calloway

'hchnical Specifications. On March 27, 1989 an amendment to the Calloway Technical Specifications for Residual Heat Rmoval was issued. We request that you review and approve the gg-M anendment prior to our next refueling outage, currently scheduled for March 1990. Provisions will be made.so the revision can
