The Ut;pC, in Generic Letter 88-20, Reference (b), requested that Yankee
. provide an ind'.vidual. Plant Examination report for Yankee Nuclear Power Station.. Yankee, in Reference _(e), notified the NRC that it intends to provide a savere accident closure submittal for YNPS by December 29, 1989.

This submittal'is attached and addresses, in an integrated single evaluation, all four elements of the NRC's severe accident policy statement, specifically:
1.
Individual Plant Examination (IPE).
2.
Individual Plant Examination External Events (IPEEE).
3.
Containment Performance Improvements (CPI).
4.
Accident Management.(AM).
The method of approach is probabilistic (PRA) and traditional safety analyses. This submittal relics, in part, on previous licensing submittals
- including the Probabilistic Safety Study (Reference (d)) and the Systematic Evaluation Program (SEP).
This submittal completes Yankee's response to Generic Letter 88-20.
