.SoutS Carolina Electric & Gas Company-(SCE&G) hereby requests a revision to the' Technical: Specifications for the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station (VCSNS). This submittal reformats the previous request dated July 24, 1989 to comply with new. guidance received from Mr. Jack Hayes, NRC Project .,
Manager. ~The proposed change revises the survcillance requirements of-
. Technical Specification 3/4.4.5, " Steam Generators," to extend the
- ' application of the.F* tube plugging criterion for the life of the steam generators.
lThe change request-is contained in the following attachments:
l' Attachment 1-'- The Technical Specification pages with the requested changes indicated.
l L Attachment 2 - A description of the amendment request and supporting safety L evaluation.
. Attachment 3 - A description of the-amendment request and associated no signif'icant hazards evaluation.
SCE&O would like to continue using the F* criterion at the next refueling outage. It is therefore requested that the NRC review and approve this -
change by February 1, 1990, in order to support outage planning activities.
This proposed Technical Specification change has been reviewed and approved by the Plant Safety-Review Committee and Nuclear Safety Renew Committee.
