Dear Mr. Reed:
The Embassy of Trance has requested fiRC assistance in arranging a tour of the Dresden I Power Station on Friday, August 21, 1981, for two members of the staff of the Trench Service Central de surete des Installations Nucleaires (SCSIN, NRC's nuclear regulatory counterpart).
The SCSIN engineers, Messrs.
Delms and Nogues, will be mating with NRC technical staff members in Washington on August 19 to discuss various aspects of defective fuel assemblies and the contamination of primary plant systems.
The purpose of their visit to Dresden I would be to get a firsthand view of a plant currently undergoing decontamination of the primary system and to speak with plant personnel about this topic.
Acceptance of this request, as always, is optional, subject to the consent of Connonwealth Edison, and is not a regulatory requirement.
The Dresden I facility would still be required to comply with all conditions of its NRC license, including applicable safety and safeguards regulations, with respect to these visitors.
