Dear Mr. Eisenhut:

We are presently reviewing your letter of' July 10, 1981 and its enclosures, NUREG 0718 and the Proposed Licensi_ng ' Requirements for Pendi.ng Construction Permit and Manufacturing License Applications.

It has been our objective to make our Cherokee Nuclear Station units and Perkins Nuclear Station units identical. Because of their standardized design, construction permit applications.for all six units were file simultaneously in March of 1974. All six units share one coninon PSAR.

Applying different regulatory requirements to the Perkins units could jeopardize the standardization concept. Therefore, a careful review of the proposed requirements is warranted. We will inform you of our position when we conclude the review.

Very truly yours,
