Dear Mr. Chairman and Members of the Board:

y O/ /

s.: v In respcnse to your request, we provide a status repdrt'r%-

garding the State of California Nuclear Power Plant Emergency _

Response Plan.

The State Administrative Plan was completed in March 1981.

This is an administrative document only, which tasks individual agencies with specific responsibilities in the event of a nuclear power plant accident.

To be complete and workable, this document requires standard operating procedures (" SOPS") of the involved agencies detailing how they will accomplish their assigned tasks.

It would appear that most agencies envision completien of SOPS in October or November of this year.

However, review and revision will be required, and it is anticipated that the State plan will be completed by January 1, 1982.
