V.C. Summer Nuclear Station Docket No. 50/395 I&E Bulletin 81-03
Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
ihis is submitted as a 1.-llowup i.o our letter of July 9,1981 and is in response to IEB 81-03.
We have completed our inspection of representative portions of potentially affected safety and fire systems. There is no indication of any current or past infestation. No living organisms or debris was found in any of the systems.
An inspection was also conducted of some non-safety systems cooled by the Monticello Reservoir. All inspected systems and components were negative except the main condenser, where a very limited infestation was iound, i.e.,
less than one individual per square meter.
No further actions are planned at this time; however, SCE&G will implement a program of flow monitorinz on safety-related system components by the date of commercial operation. Because ci the limited infestation discovered in the main condenser, this program will be supplemented by periodic visual inspections.
