The Office of Nuclear t'ateriel Safety and Safeguards is again updating its j
forecast of license applications to be submitted for resource planning and budget preparation.
The forecast: are needed through FYS7.
Your input is important to help make our projections as realistic as pcssible and to assure that ue will be prepared to revieu your applications eceditiously anc ef ficiently when they are received.

enclosed foru, including all anticipated activitics (other than Safeguards) thct tray recuire licensing actions-between reccipt of this letter and October 1907.
Safeguards matters will be handled by a separate celephone i
survey of appropriate licensees.

He appreciate that your long range plens may not be firm, but we de need your best estimates at this time.
If a submittel data is uncertain or the application itself is tentative, please indicate this fact, and we will treat the data accordingly.
In addition, if your longer rance estimates only indicate a plan to constnict a facility with no specifics, we would appreciate this inf ormation also.
(Please indicate if the facility is anticipated to be in an Agreement State or a non-Agreement State since this will af fect licensing responsibility. )

JECT: HEW APPLICATIONS SURVEY The NP.C currently is developing data which will fom the basis for our license application review scheduling, manpower and resource allocation planning, and budget preparation through 19C3.
As we have done in past years, we cgain are seeking your help in the fom of certain infomation which this letter defines.
please identify all applications and requests for review which you plan to submit to us between now and December 31, 1983, which should fall in one of th'e following categories:
(1) reactor facility construction permit applications (2) reactor facility operating license applications - Mote that submittal of operating license applications should be targeted for between 30-3G 4
nonths in advance of the most realistic expected construction completion date.
Please indicate the construction completion date on which your submittal date is based.
(3) nuclear steam supply system and balance-of-plant standard reference i
design applications for:
(a) Preliminary Design Approval (PDA);
(b) Final Design Approval (FDA); and (c) PDA Extension (4) applications for Preliminary Duplicate Design Approval (PDDA) under the duplicate plant standardization option (5) applications for Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installations, as covered by 10 CFP. Since ant itrust information nust be submitted from 9 to 36 months in advance of a construction permit anrlication, please indicate, where arpropriate, your planned submittai date for antitrust information on specific projects.
For those plants under construction permit review or under construction, which are not covered by item (2), above, please give us your most realistic current estimate of the construction completion date.

In order for the requested data to be available in time to supoort budget cycle activitics, we ask that you please respond to this letter on or before January 9,1981 even if your response is a negative one.
