USE OF ASME CODE CASE N-242-1 FOR WPPSS h0 CLEAR PROJECTS 3 AND 5. DOCKET HOS. 50-508/5u9 The Nuclear Regulatory Conaission Staff has completed its review of the Washirgton Public Power Supply System request for authorization to use ASME Code Case N0242-1 for application in the constrJCtion of pipe support frames in the pipe chases located in the two lower elevations of the Reactor Auxiliary Building of Units Nos. 2 and 5.
Code Case N-242-1, dated April 10,1980, " Material Certification,Section III, Division 1, Classes 1, 2, 3, MC and CS Construction," is acceptable subject to the following conditions in addition to those specified in the Code Case:
Applicants should identify the paragrapns of the Code Case which are being applied, and the components and supports for which the case is being used in their Safety Analysis Reports. Paragraph 5.0 shall be applied for procurement after the date of ASME Council approval.
Therefore, Code Case N-242-1 may be applied in the construction of pipe support frames in the pipe chases located in the two lower elevations of the Reactor Auxiliary Building of Units Nos. 3 and 5, subject to the conditions indicated above.
