Gentlemen:
This refers to the pre-operational physical protection inspection conducted
by Messrs. J. L. Belanger, J. R. Creed, T. J. Madeda and B. Stapleton of
this office on June 8-12, 1981, of activities at the LaSalle County Station,
Unit I authorized by NRC Construction Permit No. CPPR-99 and to the dis-
cussion of our findings with Messrs. B. B. Stephenson, R. H. Holyoak and
D. H. Smith at the conclusion of the inspection.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during
the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and
interviews with personnel.
No items of noncompliance with NRC requirements were identified during
the course of this inspection. The enclosed report contains certain
findings noted during the inspection. These findings will be reviewed
during future pre-operational inspections. Additionally, we understand
based on discussions with you and members of your staff on June 26, and
July 27, 1981 that your security program will be implemented in accordance
with the goals contained in Section 3 of the attached report.
Areas examined during the inspection concern a subject matter which is
exempt from disclosure according to Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of
Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations.
Consequently,
our report of this inspection will not be placed in the Public Document
Room.
