Narrative

Report for LER 50-366/1981-070 On 7-3-81, with the unit in steady state power operation at 2305 MWt and with HNP-2-3309, HPCI Turbine Exhaust Diaphragm Pressure Instrument

FTSC, being performed, HPCI turbine exhaust diaphragi pressere switches 2E41-N012A and D actuated at 11.2 and 12.3 psig, respectively.

Item 4c of Tech Specs table 3.3.2-2 requires accuation at less than or equal to 10 psig.

Redundant switches 2E41-N012B and C were operable and within tolerance.

Publi: health and safety were not affected by this event.

Plant operation was not affected by this event.

This is a repetitive event, and it was last reported as LER 50-366/1980-137.

The

cause

of this event has been attributed to setpoint drift.

The switches (Barksdale model D2H) were immediately recalibrated as per HNP-2-5279, Barksdale Pressure Switch Calibration, successfully functionally tested, and returned to service.

The unit is now in full compliance with the require-ment of item 4C of Tech Specs tabic 3.3.2-2.

No further action nor reporting is required.

A generic review of this event revealed no inhe-ent problems.

Unit 1 does not use the same type switch for this ap,1ication.
