Survey Results

A proposed license amencnent, which will add the Soutn Carolina Patriots
l
Point Development Authority to the license, calls for all areas accessible
l
to the public and employees to have radiation levels of less than 5 pR/Hr,
above background, at 1 mettr from any surface. This inspection determined
tnat certain areas, presently accessible, exceed this level. The inspec-
I
tors stated that a followup survey should be performed af ter work in
progress is completed and actual tour routes, etc., are clearly defined.

Background readings were established at two points; the stern and the bow of
I
the ship. Both of these points showed a 3.0 pR/Hr reading.
In addition, a
background reading was taken on the bridge and showed 3.7 pR/Hr. A pres-
'
surized ion chamber was used for background readings.
