APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Yankee Atomic Electric Company Yankee Atomic Power Station License No. DPR-3 Docket No. 50-29 As a result of the inspection conducted on April 28-30, 1981, and in accord-ance with the Interim Enforcement Policy, 45 FR 66754 (October 7, 1980), the following violation was identified.
Section 6.8.1 of the Technical Specific ~ations requires written procedures as per Section 5.1 and 5.3 of ANSI N18.7-1972 and Appendix A of Regulatory Guide 1.33, November 1972.
Section 6.8.2 of the Technical Specification requires that each proced;re required by Section 6.8.1 of the Technical Specifications be reviewed by the PORC and approved by the Plant Superintendent prior to implementation.
Contrary to the above, as of April 20, 1981, the written Vendor's Procedures for Sr-89, Sr-90 and C-14 analyses were not reviewed and approved as required by Section 6.8.1 and 6.8.2 of the Technical Specifications.
This is a Severity Level V Violation (Supplement I).
Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, Yankee Atomic Electric Company is herety required to submit to this office within twenty-five days of the date of this Notice, a written statement or explanation in reply, including:
(1) the correct </e steps which have been taken and the results achieved; (2) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further violations; and (3) the date when full compliance will be achieved.
Under the authority of Section IC2 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, this response shall be submitted under oath or affirmation.
