FIRST INTERIM REPORT 2pseriotion of the Deficiency TVA employees have failed to conform to criteria as defined in TVA topical report CEB 76-11, " Alternate Criterf a For Pipe Analysis and Supports." We did not adhere to the spacing requirements for axial pipe supports as defined in CEB 76-11. Further investigation of this problem showed no indication that this nonconformance is applicable to other TVA nuclear plants.

Interim Progress TVA is in the process of identifying the piping systems which are affected by the subject deficiency. These piping systems will be reanalyzed by rigorous analysis checking the piping stress and the support loads. TVA has initiated action to instruct those individuals involved in alternate analysis calculations that all the requirements of the alternate analysis criteria must be strictly followed.
