Pursuant to Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 70, Special Nuclear Material Licenre No. SNM-960 is hereby amended to revise authorized possession limits and activities in accordance with your application of May 3,1981 including a clarifying modification of Section 2.0(a)(111) of that application. Accordingly, Item 7 of the current license is amended to read as shown below and Item 8 is amended to add the date of May 8,1981.

Maximum quantity of special nuclear material which licensee may possess at any one time under this license:

(1)U-235: 50 kg enriched to less than 10 percent for authorized activities. The material may be in the form of irradiated special nuclear material with its attendant by-product and reactor produced transuranics.

(2)U-235: 4 kg enriched to more than 10 percent for authorized activities. The material may be in the form of irradicted special nuclear material wf th its attendant by-product and reactor produced l

transuranics.

(3)Pu: 500 g in any form in addition to the irradiated quantities as referred to in (1) and (2).

(4)U-233: 200 g in any form.

All other conditions of this license shall remain the same.

Please note that 2.0(a)(111) on page 4 of the replacement pages has been modt fled as per telecon between R. T. Kratzke (NRC) and G. E. Cunningham (VNC) on June 12, 1981. This subsection was modified to clarify the plutonium possession limit.

It reads as follows:

(iii) Plutonium. 500 grams in any form in addition to the irradiated quantities as referred to in subsections 2.0(a)(1) and 2.0(a)(11).

These changes will be incorporated into the pending application for renewal of License SNM-960.

Since fuel processing and fabrication has been eliminated as a licensed activity and tho possession limits reduced, you ara advised that License flo. SNii-960's fee. categories, as specified ir,10 CFR Part 170, Section 170.31, change to 1.D. and 1.F.
