-519, -520, -521, -553, -554 - HARTSVILLE AND PHIPPS BEND NUCLEAR PLANTS Please reference your letter dated April 9, 1981 to H. G. Parris which transmitted OIE Bulletin 81-02 for TVA action.
This letter constitutes our first interim response to the subject bulletin.
Bulletin 81-02 requested a review of safety-related components to determine if certain models of Westinghouse-EMD and Borg-Warner-NVD, three-or four-inch valves are planned for use in plants with a construction permit.
EN DES has determined that none of'the potentially deficient valves are being supplied under,the NSSS contract for Hartsville or Phipps Bend Nuclear Plants. TVA is still investigating the applicability of this bulletin to the remainder of the valves not furnished under the NSSS contract. TVA anticipates transmitting an additional report on or before October 16, 1981.
