UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION DOCKET NO. 50-324 CAROLINA POWER & LIGHT COMPANY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE
-The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the Commission) has issued
~ Amendment No. 61 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-62 issued to Carolina Power & Light Company (the licensee) which. revised the Technical
' Specifications for operation of-the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant, Unit No. 2 (the facility), located in Brunswick County, North Carolina. The
-amendment is effective June 29, 1981.
The amendment revises the Technical Specifications to permit a temporary exemption from the containment oxygen concentration limiting condition for operation requirements of 72 hours8.333333e-4 days <br />0.02 hours <br />1.190476e-4 weeks <br />2.7396e-5 months <br /> commencing 6:30 a'.m. June 29, 1981.
The application for amendment complies with the standards and require-ments of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Commission's rules and regulations.
The Commission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment.
Prior public.
-notice.of the amendment was not required since the amendment does not involve a significant hazards consideration.
fihe Commission has determined that the issuance of th.e pmendment will v
not result in any significant environmental impact and that pursuant to 10 CFR Section 51.5(d)(4), an environmental impact statement or negative declaration and environmental impact appraisal need not be prepared in connection with the issuance of the amendment.
