Dear Mr. Cavanaugh:

s 4
We have reviewed your report transmitted by letter dated February 1980, which responded to our request for infonnation dated August 21, 1979, concerning a benchmark analysis of sequential auxiliary feed-water flow to the steam generators following loss of main feedwater using a 3. node CRAFT 2 OTSG representation.
We have determined that a more rigorous assessment of the Babcock &
Wilcox (B&W) small break LOCA model is being performed under Item II.K.3.30 "Small Break LOCA Methods" of the TMI Action Plan require-ments and, therefore, further code assessment under Item II.K.2.19
" Benchmark Analysis of Sequential Auxiliary Feedwater Flow" of the TMI Action Plan requirements is unnecessary.
We have concluded that you have complied with the intent of Item II.K.2.19 and, therefore, Item II.K.2.19 is resolved for Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit No. 1.
Our associated Safety Evaluation Report is enclosed.
