The purpose of this letter is to certify that the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear.

Station ~(VCSNS) has developed a Fitness-for-Duty Program that. meets the L'. requirements published in 10CFR26. The VCSNS Program will.be put;into effect on January 3, 1990, 1
- South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G) is committed to maintaining a drug-free environment at VCSNS. As such, the VCSNS: Program includes testing.

- 1).. Barbiturates - 200 ng/ml
- 2).Benzodiazepines - 300 ng/ml 3)

.,4 Also,-SCE&G' management:has decided that it'would be reasona'ble and prudent'to-1 slower the cut-off level for Cannabinoids from 100 ng/m1, as required in.
(10CFR26..to 50 ng/ml. This lower sensitivity level will aid in the detection v
of '! casual" abuse.of the drug.
