'We have completed our review of the revised information provided by Connenwealth' Edison Company (CECO) to demonstrate comp (ATWS) Rule for Zion liance with the requirements of Anticipated Transients Without Scram Station, Unit Nos. I and 2.-
Our supplemental Safety Evaluation is enclosed.
The staff has concluded that, pending the final resolution of the Technic'al Specification issue, the ATWS design proposed by Ceco is in compliance with
-the:ATWSRulerequirenentsof10CFR50.62,ParaDraph(c)(1)..Further,the 4
staff's: conclusion is based on the successful completion of certain human-factors engineering' reviews as discussed in our previous Safety
' Evaluation dated May 22, 1989.
This action completes our review on this subject.
It is expected that the implementation of.these requirements will be completed latest by spring-1991 refueling outage for Unit 1 and by spring 1990 refueling outage for Unit 2.
Further, we understand that you will attempt to install the modification in Unit 1 prior to the 1991 refueling outage if the unit is shut down for an outage of-sufficient duration as indicated in your letter dated January 25, i

The staff has concluded that, pending the final resolution of-the Technical Specification issue, the ATWS design proposed by Ceco is in compliance with the ATWS Rule requirements of 10 CFR 50.62, Paragraph (c)(1).
Further, the
, staff's cor' usion is based on the successful completion of certain hunan-factors engineering reviews as discussed in our previous Safety-F Evaluation dated May. 22, 1989.
This action completes our review on this subject.
It is expected that the
. implementation of these requirements will be completed latest by spring 1991 refueling outage for Unit.1 and by spring 1990 refueling outage for Unit 2.
