e APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Public Service Company of New Hampshire Docket No.
50-443 Seabrook Station, Unit 1 License No. NPF-56 During the special equipment qualification inspection of November 6-10, 1989 conducted on Public Service Company of New Hampshire, and in accordance with the " General Statement of Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement Actions,"
10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C, the following violation was identified:
10 CFR 50.49 (f) states, in part "that each item of electric equipment important to safety must be qualified by testing or experience with identical or similar equipment under similar conditions with supporting analysis to show that the equipment to be qualified is acceptable."
Contrary to the above, on November 10, 1989, the licensee failed to demonstrate qualification of the installed ASCO valve configuration, by either test or analysis, for the enviror, mental conditions in which they must function.
This is a Severity Level IV violation (Supplement I).
Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, Public Service Company of New Hampshire is hereby required to submit to this office within thirty days of the date of the letter which transmitted this Notice, a written statement er explanation in reply, including: (1) the corrective steps which have been taken and the results achieved; (2) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further violations; and (3) the date when full compliance will be achieved.
