SUBJECT:

FERMI WITHDRAWAL OF AN AMENDMENT REQUEST REGARDING ROD BLOCK MONITORS, REACTOR PROTECTION SYSTEM INSTRUMENTATION, ISOLATION ACTUATIOR INSTRUMENTATION, CONTROL ROD BLOCK INSTRUMENTATION AND SOURCE RANGE MONITORS (TAC NO. 68646)

By letter dated June 29, 1988 (NRC-88-0057), you applied for an amendment to the Fermi-2 Operating License, No. NPF-43.

The proposed change would have modified the facility technical specifications pertaining to provisions to reset instrument channels and/or trip systems, and to remove requirements to place channels and/or trip systems in the tripped condition under certain circumstances.

However, your staff subsequently informed the NRC during a telephone conference that the amendment is no longer requested.' Therefore, your proposed change is considered to be withdrawn.

If_this information is not correct, please notify the NRC of your intended actions within 10 days of receipt of this letter.

We have prepared a proposed Notice of Withdrawal of Application for Amendment to Facility Operating License.

Unless you notify us that we are incorrect within 10 days of receipt of this letter, we will file the notice with the Office of the Federal Register for p"Slication.
