L

' post-modification requalification testing program.. We find your. proposed test i

'and agreed to' by your staff in a telephone discussion on December 28, 1989.

L tests already were or.will become a part 'of the FPC test program as -

L' requested"', is understood'to mean as requested by the NRC letter to FPC p

dated September 25, 1989, 2.

LItem 12 of Test 8, Reliability Tests in Attachment 1, means that the minimum

.of'30 valid consecutive start / lead tests without failure will be done at p

12-hour-interyals~ or after cooldown to nornal standby temperature, whichever a

-l 3.

Regarding Item 2 of Test 8 Reliability Tests in Attachment 1, we agree that?

EDG1"A"' can be considered OPERABLE for Modes 4 through 6 following success-

K However, no fuel handling should be -carried out following failure of any

at least 30 consecutive successful tests.

7 4.

Regarding Item (8) cf Attachment 2, if FPC declares EDG "B" OPERABLE following the completion of upgrade modification but is unable to conplete the reliability' testing during the Refuel 7 outage, the minimum of 30 y e L

valid consecutive start / load tests without failure shall be performed as for EDG "A" and shall be completed as soon as possible after declaring it OPERABLE, by conducting a minimum of 2 tests per week.
