' post-modification requalification testing program.. We find your. proposed test i
program-to be acceptable with certain clarifications which were discussed with -
'and agreed to' by your staff in a telephone discussion on December 28, 1989.

dated September 25, 1989, 2.
LItem 12 of Test 8, Reliability Tests in Attachment 1, means that the minimum
.of'30 valid consecutive start / lead tests without failure will be done at p
12-hour-interyals~ or after cooldown to nornal standby temperature, whichever a
occurs first..

Regarding Item 2 of Test 8 Reliability Tests in Attachment 1, we agree that?
EDG1"A"' can be considered OPERABLE for Modes 4 through 6 following success-
- ful completion of the testing program recournended by the EDG manufacturer.
K However, no fuel handling should be -carried out following failure of any
-test:until appropriate corrective actions have been implemented and the L
EDG is again declared operable. Testing should then be resumed to obtain y
at least 30 consecutive successful tests.

Regarding Item (8) cf Attachment 2, if FPC declares EDG "B" OPERABLE following the completion of upgrade modification but is unable to conplete the reliability' testing during the Refuel 7 outage, the minimum of 30 y e L
valid consecutive start / load tests without failure shall be performed as for EDG "A" and shall be completed as soon as possible after declaring it OPERABLE, by conducting a minimum of 2 tests per week.
